Device requirements
- Requires an iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later.
- HealthKit and Family Controls features require a physical device (not supported in Simulator).
HealthKit (step counting)
- If you denied Health access: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Strut → enable Steps.
- Strut reads your step count from Apple Health. Make sure your iPhone or Apple Watch is counting steps.
- Manually entered steps are not counted—only steps recorded automatically by your device.
Screen Time permissions
- Strut uses Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls to block apps.
- If blocking isn't working, check that you've granted Screen Time authorization in the app's onboarding flow.
- You can manage Screen Time settings in iOS Settings → Screen Time.
Subscriptions
- If you subscribed through the App Store: manage/cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- If premium features are locked after an App Store purchase: open Strut and use Restore Purchases on the paywall.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
App blocking not working?
- Make sure you've selected apps to block in Settings → Blocked Apps.
- Verify Screen Time permissions are granted.
- Try removing and re-adding the apps you want to block.
Steps not counting?
- Check that HealthKit permissions are granted (see above).
- Verify your iPhone or Apple Watch is recording steps in the Health app.
- The wallet resets daily at midnight—your steps from yesterday won't carry over.
